I work at the intersection of graphic design, experiential art and community , creating projects that challenge assumptions and make space for conversations that don't happen enough. My practice is shaped by my Chinese-Australian background and a belief that design works best when it starts with people.

Samsung Launch Night

Samsung Galaxy S26 Launch - March 2026

As a Territory Manager for Samsung Australia, I led a five person team and worked with a budget of $12,000 to execute two Launch Events with our largest retail partner, JB-HIFI. My role in this process ranged from initial pitching and communications with our retail partner, designing all visual assets of the event to managing event and venue staff.

Both nights resulted a 100% attendance rate with a satisfaction rating of over 90%. The project has now been used as a blueprint for further launch events across our wider Australian team.

Moon Rabbit Rising

Moon Rabbit Rising showcased at 25A Belvoir delves into the Ancient Chinese legend of 后羿 (Hou Yi) and 嫦娥 (Chang’e). The production followed a devised process of making, working closely with an all-asian production and creative team in bringing the mythology to life.

The project was a test of simplicity and restraint where the central console of the set - the golden plinth - not only performed as a an elevation but it's form and texture took inspiration from the topography of the Kunlun Mountains. From conceptualising the show's visual tone to designing and fabricating the set pieces myself, what resulted was a true love note to Chinese mythology and the power of live performance.

Digitised Diaspora

Public Installation Design Concept · Graduate Project · Shortlisted for the Frost Collective Design Award · 2023

Digitised Diaspora was designed as a response to the ongoing tensions experienced by Chinese - Australian community, using the form of public installation as a seed for a much needed, cross-cultural conversation.

The project takes form through a participatory form of public installation, asking members of the CA community to contribute to a moving tapestry of their household objects.

The project features multiple, designed touch-points . From designing the initial UX for the website where users can upload their objects, to digitally constructing the activation where the video piece would be featured, the final piece was designed with the intention of sharing CA stories in widely public spaces - from shopping centres to the Sydney VIVID lights festival.

Finalist for the Frost Collective Design Award 2023, UNSW.

Pillar House Tour

Stage Concept Design · Experience Design Assignment . 2021

The 'Pillar House Tour' is a concept stage design designed with the artist Rainbow Chan and her sophomore album, 'Pillar' in mind. As a reclamation of her language and a love letter to her maternal lineage, the stage takes form in a central, pagoda inspired structure - a reimagining of her family home in Weitou, China.

Cladded with a semi-transparent mirror finish and a finale number featuring a lift in the centre of the house structure, the stage was designed to reflect the balance of electronic house and traditional, Chinese folk music. The structure follows the chronological nature of her songs on the album, where elevations throughout the set combined with varied lighting designs positions her as the central muse throughout both the physical and musical journey of the show.

Plastic Slippers

' A glorious profusion of significant objects combining delicately dangling chopsticks, a plethora of utensils and objects connected with food, gaudily coloured slippers evoking a rhythmic slapping sound, and childhood memorabilia completely envelop in a house-shaped red frame. The impression is both of maternal care and enclosure, disparity and fusion, chaos and connotation.' - Catherine Skipper

'Plastic Slippers' marks the beginning of my journey of creating experiences through physical space . As a featured artist for Shopfront Co-Op's ARTLAB residency in 2020, the installation was a self-reflective piece exploring my identity as a Australian. The piece plays with elements of visual, auditory and lighting design with the intention to provoke reflections of cultural identity within a Western context.
